This is a great discussion that can cross over to many cultures, specifically to groups of people who go to underdeveloped countries driven to bring about a change. Their challenges, their anxieties, and frustrations stems from unpredictable layers of blocks. In the heart of the matter, one is always perceived as a foreigner, even if its their own country. Listening to Ilwad Elmans story, I can feel her words mingle with the friends I encountered over the years from similar situations in Sri Lanka, Congo, Rwanda, Middle East, Philippines and India, who faced challenges after going home to help. When one gets that inner Call to bring about a shift, the first milestones one encounters are the very people who are in need. Life is about many trials and errors. Be malleable enough to change.
