This is a great little video… I never really played much hip hop, or bought much from the shop over the years, but Fat City on Oldham Street (Aflecks originally), Grand Central Records, the club nights like Counter Culture and Friends & Family, the whole movement... was a big part of mine and my friends lives when i lived up in Manchester. It all happened around what was essentially the birth of the Northern Quarter in the city and it gave a platform to many of todays key bass music artists and a range of DJs, people like MrScruff, Broken£nglish, Jenna G, Riton, Votel, etc etc - I have so many amazing memories from that time, mostly involving my best mate from back then Wai Wan :-) I never really got to know Mark Rae but props to Dave Walker, Matt Triggs Howie Martinez Steve Smith Mark-One Lee Martin Brew and Christian Wood, who i used to see out and about all the time :-) (share via Ross Allen - dope! thanks for posting man!)
