This is a great video showing the Varsity Boys race at Utah League race #4. It really takes you through the whole race and you can see how things develop. It is truly amazing how FAST and tactically sound NICA League Varsity racers (both genders) are. And they are most often also fantastic examples to younger racers. Dave and Lori Harward run the Utah League. Here is a quote from Lori about the sportsmanship at the highest levels of high school cycling. It should be an example to us all: Dave Harward was the official sweep for this Varsity Boys race at Soldier Hollow. Last night he told me it was the coolest thing ever because not only are these kids amazing athletes, but every time these kids had to pass another rider, they gave words of encouragement. He said at one point Preston Bagley (JV Boys D2 winner) was passing another rider and Dave could tell Preston was riding so hard, he was totally maxed out and yet he used his precious breath to tell another rider, great job, keep it up! Dave said all the kids were like that and it was the most amazing thing hes ever seen/heard!
