This is a great way to start off the New Year! I was honored to attend the ceremony to re-open Fremont Fire Station 11. This station is critical in increasing our response times to emergencies and protecting a key part of our City. The City Council has worked hard the past 2 years finding the resources to re-open this station that had been closed for years. I want to thank ALL the City employees for working with the Council to make this Public Safety investment possible. I took a page from “It’s a Wonderful Life,” and presented the Firefighters with a few Housewarming gift. Bread: That this house may never know hunger. Salt: That life may always have flavor. Wine (sparkling cider): That joy and prosperity may reign forever. And a special addition for them: Bad Aids: So they return to the Fire station after the emergency call and return safety to their family after their tour of duty. All my best to all that pass through Station 11! Thanks to Jim Sakane for the great picture!
