This is a happy Tail from one of our adopters.. Hi! I really wanted to get back to Houston to bring Mitzi by for a visit. But with school starting again it has been busy! So Ill settle for email and a few pics. Mrs. C. A letter from the dog- Dear TASTC, I really love my new family and I guess I’ll keep them. I got to meet my new doctor and he was really nice. He didn’t charge my mom for my check up and getting my stitches out because I am a rescue dog! He says I am a pretty fine little pup. There are all kinds of things to learn at my new home and sometimes I just don’t understand. Such as, I get scolded if I chew on my brother’s stuffed animals. Mom says I have my own stuffed animals and those are okay to chew on. But I think if you can chew on one stuffed animal you can chew on all of them, am I right? Also, mom doesn’t let me get in the box with the gravel in it but the cat can. I just don’t understand why I’m not allowed in there and Ozzie is. So I tell him, often, he needs to get out of there. Mom scolds me for bothering the cat while he “does his business”- can you believe mom doesn’t even make him go outside to do that!? Speaking of the cat. He is a lot of fun to play with. At first he really didn’t seem to like me, but now he doesn’t mind me chasing him through the house. And sometimes he even chases me! I don’t like this so much because he has a good 10 pounds on me and when he catches me I know I’m going to get rolled over. I have my very own bed to sleep in. I don’t like to stay in it because I want to sleep close to mom. So she put my bed in her bed and I stay in it until she falls asleep. Then I crawl out and cuddle right up against her back. She always makes me get back in my bed though and I pout for a while but eventually get over it. She says I’m spoiled, but I think it’s just well loved. During the day I sit on the back of the couch and let all the people (driving, or walking, or riding a bike) on the street know that it’s mine. Mom is teaching me not to bark so I only make a small grrr sound as to not get scolded. My brothers take me for short walks around the block and I get to have conversations with other animals and people sitting on their porches. My dad takes me for really long walks. I enjoy this time because I get to see all sorts of things. He says it’s to wear me out so I’ll sleep well at night but I know it’s because he enjoys it. I LOVE to go on car rides. I get to take my boys to school some mornings! This is so much fun because I see lots of people. And sometimes we go on really long drives and mom will roll the window down so I can stick my head out. My big brother gets nervous when I do that but mom assures him that she has a good grip on my leash and I can’t fall out. I like to pick on my smaller brother because he is closer to my height than the others. He likes to run through the house and I’ve heard mom tell him not to do that. So, when mom isn’t in the room I’ll let him know that running is not acceptable. I have my own special way of doing that. First I have to chase after him, then I jump up on him, then I growl or bark, and sometimes I go too far and nip at him. He doesn’t like that so much and mom scolds me. Most times I’m pretty good and remember that I’m not supposed to do that. He still loves me though, even if I sometimes forget. I think I have a really good family to spend the rest of my life with and I’m glad they picked me. I also want to tell all the people at TASTC how much I appreciate them taking care of me until my forever family came along. If it weren’t for you I’m not sure where I’d be today. Thank you, Mitzi
