This is a heartfelt look back by Harry Leslie Smith, a 91-year-old RAF veteran, at a life in Britain when there was only very rich and very poor. Worryingly, it almost seems that we are heading back to those times via austerity and cuts. The homeless and the poverty today grows alongside the billionaires. The NHS is struggling due to poor management and waiting lists grown longer due to cuts. Hospitals are closing, doctors retiring, and nursing put under serious strain. We need to stop what is happening to this country, end the inequality, the austerity, and fight for an NHS which once was a health service second to none. If they have money for war, for bankers, for trident missiles, for nuclear power plants, for fracking bribes, for new roads, for expense accounts, for second homes and holidays - then they have money (taxpayers money) to put the people back on their feet. We should demand no less. There is no austerity, just daylight robbery. ~ M
