This is a letter I had to write for my English class. It is a love - TopicsExpress

This is a letter I had to write for my English class. It is a love letter to an inanimate object. Dear Dodge Cummins When I first took you out I fell in love with the lethal power you have. From that purring power that will just tease me into relaxing, to that roaring power as you pull twenty six thousand pounds. You have all the power that I love and yet a gentle purr to relax me. I can take you any were that we want to go. Whether it is up the mountain, down the high way, or off in the mud you don’t mind it one bit. You even run better when you work hard. You run and never stutter or give a complaint that it makes me love you even more. You are an old gal, but I don’t mind. Working on you is part of the fun of being with you. I have taken care of you and made sure you run straight and true. I know we have more work to do but it is worth every second of it. You will always run true as long as I am there to take care of you, and I will never leave you for long. You have odd little quirks that are unique to you that I only know about. Like how I can press you down and listen to you roar and shift gears before it becomes a scream. How I can slip you in and out of gear so smoothly that there is hardly a shudder before we roar off again. You still have a lot of things I don’t know about but that is part of the fun of being with you. I want to help you be better as you make me better. We will start with your fuel plate and move it forward to give you more power. Then I will give you a better turbo to let you pull better. Next we will find an eight speed semi transmission for you to pull that twenty six thousand pounds uphill shifting gears and gaining speed all the way. Finally we will find an air brake so you can bring us down nice and smooth. Those long sore day’s we have had put a smile on my face and make me cringe when I think of the day’s still ahead of us. The time we went all day for fourteen hours strait was such a ride that I was sore for a week after we got home. Oh how I love the way you can go all day without faltering and still have more to give by the end of it. You look so good with new tires that it makes me smile. I love the feel you have when I ride you. You run so smoothly like skates over ice but grip so tight like a vice. Who can resist a sight such as you when you have new tires? You have no fear of getting dirty. Your body tells the story of the roads you have traveled. You won’t back down from a fight and don’t mind getting scuffed up. When I am with you I have no fear of ever hurting you. Even if you get bumped or dented you will continue to run and make me smile. When there is too much damage I will take and nurse you back to perfection and then we can start all over again. We love listing to the radio together, driving down the road with the windows down blaring out some good old country music. Then some nights to silence as we ponder and pray about our lives. You are one of the only ones to see me weep so much and are there to comfort me when I need it. As I ride you, you keep me toasty warm. It never takes you long to embrace me with your warmth and make me feel welcome. You wait patiently for me as I let go of you to help someone on the side of the road. Your warmth is contagious and spreads like a fire. You can melt a frozen hearted man into a rosy cheeked boy. We turn heads as we roll down the road, making some wonder what I see in you, and others jealous that I have you. I love taking you out my Dodge Cummins and I will always take care of you even in your old age. You will never let me down and I will never let you go. Your love
