This is a letter I wrote to President Obama today via whitehouse.gov. Dear President Obama, Become the radical the right always says you are! Now is the time to fight like you have nothing left to lose, because you dont. The Republican dominated Congress is going to oppose you at every step so you should push as hard as you can and trick them into overreaching. Your usual strategy of starting in the middle & looking for compromise gets you nowhere. Abandon it, surprise the GOP, and make your mark on history as a true reformer! Turn yourself into such a populist president that you invite them, DARE them, to impeach you. Consider impeachment hearings as a badge of honor, proof of courage under fire. Start a class war against the Koch brothers and the 0.01% who pay less taxes then their secretaries. Start a class war against corporations that dodge their taxes and pollute our environment. Continue the terrific work youre doing training veterans to install solar panels, and expand your efforts into new programs to create jobs programs nationwide. Aggressively target new regulation to protect the environment, and to rein in the abusive policies of banks and investment funds. Most importantly, double down on Obamacare by using executive power to the utmost extent to protect and extend the populist & socialist healthcare policies you enacted. In short, use any and all means to pursue the most radical agenda of history, as radical as the New Deal. Make the GOP so busy trying to keep up with you that they cant possibly disassemble all the pretty new liberal toys you build. They wont be able to roll back all your efforts, and if they do, it will energize the Democratic base to show up to the next election. Every time you compromise you end up looking weak and losing out. So be a radical! You literally have nothing left to lose and everything to gain.
