This is a letter that Im having delivered to the City Council of Burrton Kansas approximately two weeks ago in Burrton there was a raid performed by the Burrton police department and some Reno County officers in this raid they allegedly found a small amount of drug residue and drug paraphernalia in the garage of the home the officers then proceeded to kick in the front door of the house knowing the only people in the home was the mother and three children according to my grandchildren they were forced my 3 three grandchildren 7 years old 9 years old and 11 years old to the ground by gun. The seven year old was so frightened she started running through the house trying to find her daddy she was chased by an officer with a shotgun and told little girl if you dont stop I will shoot this was told to a seven year old child the children were not safely removed from the home and the DCF was not notified until the following morning by the grandparents the officers then proceeded to tear off cabinet doors closet doors and anything they could destroy off the walls in the home the childrens toys and rooms were torn apart and what did officers fine in the home nothing when I ask a officer from Burrton why my grandchildren were treated this way I was informed it was proper protocol personally I call it child abuse with a badge if my grandchildren ever have a problem how are they supposed to trust any officer would you trust your children or grandchildren to these officers in conclusion I believe it is time for the Council of the city of Burrton Kansas to request the resignation of the officers involved in this incident
