This is a painting of a Pawnee Scout, done for me, by my lifelong friend Buck Braden. Buck and I have been friends since before Kindergarten. To put it in historical perspective, the Scout is kneeling on top of a hill called Harlan Hill, overlooking the Solomon River Valley, in Smith County, Kansas. Just to the right of the rifle, on the horizon, is my hometown Smith Center, KS. Other plains tribes called the Pawnee Scouts Wolves and ONLY the scouts wore white face paint, either their whole face or half of their face. This Scout would be looking at the area of Tall Bulls camp, on the Solomon River. Tall Bull was the Dog Man Chief, of Summit Springs fame. Buck is a member of the OIW page!
