This is a part of the previous email I posted regarding the victims of the Austin floods. Because the previous post was so long and some will not read it, I wanted to post it separately. It is a lesson on the Song of Solomon by Daniel Geraci: God is Calling You Now! The Song of Solomon is one of my favorite books in the bible. It is the only book that shows Jesus running after His bride and her growing in maturity in Christ. In Chapter 1, she falls in love with this man name Jesus! In Chapter 2, she loves to sit on her bed of comfort, sitting under the apple tree, eating the fruit of His love. She doesnt want to leave this incredible place of comfort. But in Chapter 2, Jesus tells her to ARISE and go where He is working, to hide in the clefts of the ROCK (trust in the work of the cross/His grace). In Chapter 3, she doesnt want to go because she is afraid. She doesnt see herself ready (still working on sin issues) but He does. He sees what she doesnt see - Christ in her!! His seed, His great grace, which makes all things possible. By chapter 4, she decides to trust Jesus and in Chapter 5, she goes!! For many of you reading this email,, you are in Chapter 2 or 3 of this progression of faith. I want to encourage you with this: Will you cross the line of fear and intimidation that stands before you, out of Chapter 3 and into Chapter 4 and 5 of your life? What separates those in Chapter 3 vs. 4 is simply a decision. Will you trust Jesus with all of your heart, soul and strength? He is a safe God and He promises never to forsake you. As you know, God can use a donkey to accomplish His will as He did with Balaam (Numbers 22:28) but He would rather use you to be a vehicle for His grace to flow through. The Apostle Peter stepped out in faith, cast his net into the sea - Jesus was the one that filled it with fish. All He needs is for you to be willing to trust God and become His hands and feet in whatever role He is calling you to fill. What is He calling you to do today? It may be that He just want you to spend more quality time with Him. Are you willing to make the sacrifice of time in order to know Him in His fullness and glory? You will find it completely worth all that it cost. Just ask Him what He wants from you today?
