This is a picture of my broken extender on my pedal and a picture of the hematoma on my hip as a result of my crash. I snapped the extender and flew over the handle bars while going up a hill. (I fixed the bike and finished the ride.) I landed on the side of my head and hip. I was wearing a helmet. If not, well, I wouldnt be writing this. The hematoma on my hip would also be in my head. I have resisted wearing a helmet skiing. Someone close to me nags me all the time. No more nagging needed. Getting new bike helmet and my first ski helmet. WEAR A HELMET. Apologies if the picture is offensive. I think it makes an important point and does so with no permanent injury.
