This is a poem one of my friends, poet Jocelyn Mosman wrote tonight...thought it worth sharing... A Poem For Robin Williams Dear Genie, You beautiful escape artist, Dedicated to serving others And being larger than the walls That held your love in. You were teaching me That being blue was not A flaw since I was small. Being blue is not what defined you. Laughter was. You were more than the Lamp that confined you. Dear Mrs. Doubtfire, You may not of been a lady, But you had the sass of a woman. You were the ultimate nanny, The symbol of what women And men can grow up and admire. You made children love you In drag. And you fought for those You loved most. Today, we get caught up In appearances and physical beauty. You created a profound love, Deeper than your gender Or your skin. You were love, and you were Beautiful. Dear Alan Parrish, You were stuck in the wilderness For too long. You suffered unimaginable damage, And you still kept faith. You were a leader, A teacher, A man of great strength. You taught us endurance And to keep pushing through The hard times Because they wont last forever. Even in the jungles of life, You cut a path, You saw a light at the end Of your tunnel. You found a way back home, And I hope your new home Welcomes you with open arms, And you can stop playing this game. Dear Teddy Roosevelt, You historical badass! You melted hearts on your Trusty horse. You went into battle with your Enemies And took bullet wounds To keep on talking. You knew that death could not stop Your memory from living on After you. No bullet could ever destroy The man you truly are. Dear John Keating, You broke my heart and Taught me how to piece It back together again With words. You were puzzle pieces of Poems And good advice. You taught me that words And actions could change The world. You taught me how to suck The marrow out of life. You sucked the marrow Until it ran dry. You had so much love to give And gave none to yourself. Mr. Keating, You broke my heart And arent here to put it Back together again. No more laughter will erupt From your lips. The world will be quiet Without that beautiful music, Without your giant yawp. Your voice changed the world. And it changed me. Dear Robin Williams, You were a bundle of happiness. A man so happy in movies Should have been a man of great Happiness in life. Perhaps playing these characters Killed you. Perhaps wearing the mask For too long drove you insane. Perhaps you let yourself love So much, You had no more left to give. You seized every day, You granted us wish after wish, You gave us hope in the hard times, You brought us to a deeper understanding. Carpe diem. I salute you. O Captain, My Captain, I would stand on any desk Just to shout words of love. You are only human. But a phenomenal one. You wont be forgotten. You wont be unloved. -Seraphine the Poet
