This is a question for the dog owners (particularly if you have a lab). We got a lab mix from a shelter and hes about a year old we think. Neutered. Has a large yard and toys. The past couple of days he has jumped the chain link fence. He stays close but I dont want him getting out because a) he could get hit by a car and b) he freaking chews on everything. Got ahold of my shoe on the porch last night and has chewed on various bits of yard equipment. Tried tying him in the yard but he slips his collar and the harness (which he shredded last night). Im starting to see why he may have been at the shelter in the first place. So my question is this: do electric fences work (not the hot wire ones but the underground ones)? Or should we just invest in one of those kennels thats like 6 tall? I really dont want to do tie out long term as he wraps the line around the trees and gets himself tangled. Also, any suggestions on dog trainers?
