This is a quick update regarding my near break in last night: Just after clocking out from my morning work duties, I (as advised by many of you good people) went to the police station to report what had happened. I met the police officer at a neutral location, so as not to call attention to my house (didnt want to alarm my neighbors and so forth...) The police officer kindly scolded me, telling me next time to definitely call them even if I think the intruder left. It could save someone else from being robbed or worse. I gave him my vow to do so. He was very nice and he told me that theres much suspicious activity in my area. Furthermore, he told that five years ago, he would have told me my neighborhood was not a safe place for me to move into but by now its much safer and its only going to get safer. Summertime, is a time when all the kids are out of school and there will probably be some increased activity. Everyone should be on the look out. He put my address on a list for extra patrolling for the next week. He warned me that if I see bright lights shining up toward my house not to be alarmed -- that its just the police doing their job in the area of protection. When I returned home, I told some of my sweet neighbors what had happened so they will not be frightened of the police officers bright lights and also just to let them be aware of some shifty activity in our area. I also told them to spread the word to other neighbors so all will be warned. I feel much better for having told the police - I only hope my lack of reporting it last night didnt cause another person or other persons any harm. Lesson definitely learned. Be careful out there my good friends, neighbors, loved ones, animal friends... And thanks for all the concern and well wishes. Olive and I aint letting nobody make us afraid to keep on keepin on...
