This is a re-post... but, oh so true... Please take a moment to read... Life is all about perspective. You may despise your boss. But, the unemployed father of three is praying for an interview. He feels overwhelmed trying to put food on the table, but the couple who just miscarried dreams of someday sitting around the table with their babies. You are angry because you dont have a car & have to walk to the bus stop in your heels. Meanwhile the female leg amputee wishes she could wear heels again. An overweight girl is envious of how tight & muscular the leg amputees body is, after years of intense physical therapy. This overweight girl is tortured by her legs after years of being bullied & being called thunder thighs. She cries herself to sleep at night & despises having to run on the treadmill in front of judgemental gym bunnies. Meanwhile, Im the the girl who got hit by the car & cries because she cant remember what running feels like. I get called a cripple when Im out using my forearm crutches & wish I didnt have to use them because they cause painful nerve damage & remind me of how far I am from my goals. Meanwhile the paraplegic soldier is killing himself day after day in therapy, begging God for the day he can STAND and take ONE STEP with my crutches. The Wounded Warrior hates wheeling himself everywhere & having civilians look past him. The quadriplegic cries because he cant wheel himself, shave his own face nor brush his hair. The gorgeous Breast Cancer patient feels self-conscious because she has no hair. The lonely, able-bodied & healthy CEO has all the money in the world but cant buy love. She sees the cancer patient surrounded by loved ones & would trade it all in order to feel ALL THAT WARMTH for a second. We all have a story. Everyone we cross paths with is fighting their own battle. The greatest gift we can give each other is respect & a smile. The greatest gift we can give ourselves is an appreciation & recognition of all the blessings in our lives. Have you smiled at someone random today & thanked the Universe for the Life youre living? I know I have.
