This is a really sensible guide. I dont think that kids should be given money for contributing to the home in these ways. It fails to instruct them in co operative living. Pocket money like food and clothes can be given to be managed however the self esteem and self respect of being expected to be a competent member of the household whose participation is appreciated is priceless and flows on to being a competent citizen.
