This is a review done by our new Springfield MO staff Alycia Berry. Please give it a read an I want to say how incredibly proud of her for doing this review on her first local show as VQM! I am honored and grateful to have such an opportunity as being part of the Voodoo Queen Management staff and Posinivy Promotions to fall into my lap! The whole experience is absolutely brand new to me! While it was somewhat overwhelming at first, to go in to interview bands such as Beauty In The Suffering and Final Drive with Kathey Waxler, it quickly turned into an interesting, fun task. Dietrich with Beauty in The Suffering has so many ideas and visions for their future- its crazy to think all that is brewing under 1 head of hair! I admired his positive outlook and faith in believing they will accomplish so much and so far theyve been successful. They just put out their video to The Crazies not long ago and already plan to have another one out by Halloween! Unbelievable! I am excited to see how far they go- and how quickly! Personally, I dont have a whole lot of exposure to the heavier metal or rock music, so, screamo bands are not really my thing- SO I THOUGHT! That was quickly changed the first time for me to hear Jordan Gaw, Did I just fall in love with a scream?!?! were my exact words on a video shared on Facebook. These guys are so laid back & easy to talk to. I can honestly say Ive never been so impressed with a live performance either! Jordan jams out with each member individually on-stage and its then that you appreciate and recognize EACH member for their part contribute to each song. Listening to their interview- they were very respectful to eachother in that they let each member get his words in without stumbling over one another. The CD I received at my first event to attend in St.Louis, MO at Fubar Saint Louis- is my new favorite car music! Their sound puts me in a good mood blasting down the road! I am beyong anxious to see what else they have to give us in the near future!
