This is a saddening update... For the last few hours, I have been on the phone with a few friends and others re. Ambassador Bhaduris statement and her decision to quit the party. As many of you would know, Ambassador Bhaduri was part of the partys gender justice committee as well as the committees on foreign policy and national security.. Her decision to quit is a big loss for the party..She was one of the very few, articulate, forthright and widely respected member of the party at the national level.. A bigger shame would be if reports of her being heckled at the National Convention are true. The resolution she was trying to move appears perfectly innocuous to me (see here j.mp/1fAC4KY) and it is puzzling why she was heckled.. I am still trying to find out more details but wanted to take a moment to express my sadness and strong discomfort at this turn of events...
