This is a shock value piece just to get a furious reaction and Telander won in resounding fashion. He got Cutler bashers and defenders all flared up because Jay makes his money plating football and Rick makes his money talking about athletes. No one, including Jay and Trestman knows how this odd pairing is going to play out but if you look at just the numbers Telander is right. Jay has done nothing to put him in the elite quarterback conversation. He had a great playoff win over the Seahawks in 2010 and that was the end of his glory. I hope he has a killer season and takes the Bears to the playoffs in explosive fashion but until that happens all we can do is watch the games and hope for the best.
