This is a take you back in time question. I saw a commercial on - TopicsExpress

This is a take you back in time question. I saw a commercial on TV and it reminded me of something not to pleasant.. But I thought I would ask. At what age and what words were used when you got conned in by somebody in the ;;;; to try to stick your tongue out on a frozen metal post, with the calm reassurance that your tongue would not get stuck and you would not get hurt. Examples: metal banister, school bike rack, chain link fence around the school yard . Thought Id ask and see how many people got conned like I did at a young age . For me I was still in nursery school and we were in the backyard playing and they had one of those steel banisters leading down from the back door down the stairs. I love it being all frosted up and it was a cold day. Some of the other kids convinced me just stick my tongue on the banister and it would feel really neat. SO being the trusting kid that I was I did so. However I did not stick just the tip of my tongue but the whole flat surface. And yes it froze immediately. That kind freaked me right out as I could not get my tongue off nor could I talk. Operator of the house came out and tried to calm me down as she did not know how long I had been stuck in this position and was trying to come up with a game plan for getting my tongue unstuck. While she was contemplating the matter at hand, being a young child I panicked and ripped my tongue right off the metal beam. It hurt like a bugger and for the rest of the day I had to walk around keeping my tongue stuck in a cup of warm water. Please feel free to share your experience of this not pleasant but growing up life experience. And I guess I should throw in a caution viewer reading discretion is advised due to the subject matter. Everyone have a great day and enjoy the memories of what we got sucked into as a child. Cheers.
