This is a very good summary on my thoughts about chronic illness, - TopicsExpress

This is a very good summary on my thoughts about chronic illness, both physical and pyschological in america. And about both its origions and solutions, even if we cant yet get to the bottom of them. -This was written to a friend you guys dont know who has diabeties (and therefore I dont think she will mind), but the same ideas and solutions should apply, based upon my experience of having pretty much every problem in the book. I dont want to be another person telling you what to do, but i have seriously bad insulin resistance when Im not taking care of things. being someone who has had even worse health problems for years and has rebounded back from them to a large degree, I feel you might respect my opinion more than others considering its been from the research side of things that weve all done, but filtered through a few more years of experience focused in the matter. All the maricle cures out there are not real cures. They are symptomatic treatments that target different reasons such as deficiencies and wrongful intake that dont solve anything at its core. Your right in not wanting to listen to it, because its all bullshit. what works for one person doesnt work or works only temporarily for another because people have problems for different underlying reasons. I dont want to get into a debate about conspiracy theories considering they are all theories anyway, but lets just say The Money knows these things and wants us to run in circles being sick, looking for a one shot bullet that will cure everything ala docter oz recommendations. Unfortunately, they also dont want us to know that the real magic bullet is simply common sense good health tactics. That is, low carbs, no sugar, moderate exercise 3x + a week, 3-5 servings cooked vegetables, higher amounts of protein than people usually recommend based upon ethics (when there are animal compassionate alternatives for protein anyway) plenty of water, minerals, multivitamins from natural sources.... ect. they also bank on us not learning about the Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction or herxing that makes us sick from things that are helping us before we get better from them (the second part of which can go un-noticed). This all reinforces the dualistic all or nothing mentality. This leads us to overdo things when trying something new and make us sick and become demotivated, going back to that hopefull maricle bullet mentality. I have been sick, on the verge of death meany times, and I have been well, 100% healthy. I have also been well within sickness. the thing that has worked for me and my lyme disease online friends has always been the no brainers that we try to ignore due to having to get ourselves out of a cozy chair to do them. This brings me to my last thing that they dont want to know about - moderation. the herximer effect does not happen, and the mental struggle over getting up and doing something you dont want to do is not nearly as excruciating if you make small goals for yourself rather than big lifestyle change goals. I have not exercised for months before, and I have exercised TOO MUCH for months before, and it all comes down to listening to your instinct on what you think you can accomplish in that given moment. If you know you cant get up and do a workout, or cut out icecream compleatly, or whatever, then dont do it. but if you think you can take a walk around the block to lower your blood sugar, or eat a smaller thing of ice cream, then do that. I dont know if these are your struggles, I might be projecting mine onto you, and Im sorry if thats the case. I just get the sense that at least some of our difficulties overlap, and I hope that my experiences and failures go on to help other people. Its not on maricle cures or your friends compassion to get you well, but from one semi stranger to another, I hope you get well soon...
