This is a very interesting, albeit upsetting video but I wanted to share it with you because I think it shows a side of Catherine that we KNOW is there, underneath the ever present smile & calm temperament, but rarely get to see. It’s from 2007 & while it’s sort of hard to see, it is Catherine & Pippa walking down the street. As you can see it is night time & they are being hounded by the paps. Catherine is asking them to stop taking her photo & they won’t. Pippa also asks them to leave her alone. At one point they say that if she takes her hand away from her face & let them get a photo they’ll leave. She refuses. You can see the moment in the photo I posted below. You can hear the frustration AND the strength & firmness in her voice. She does not back down. Imagine being a young women walking down a street at night being hounded by a group of men. That in of itself would be scary. The paps sound sort of menacing & they even seem to mock her afterwards; one of the them even says in a very snarky tone, "Than you your highness", though there is one who seems to be trying to get the group to leave her alone. What impressed me about this video is that we see Catherine’s ability to stand firm & not back down. She is not intimidated nor will she be bullied. She doesn’t ring her hands & whine. She is resolute & she is not afraid to speak up for & defend herself. And little sister has got her back & is even taking photos/videos of the paps. We’ve always known, or at least wanted to believe, that our girl is not a pushover. This video proves it & allows to see her in a way we rarely have before. But it also makes me sad because it shows what she had to endure for so many years. Well, she gets the last laugh now! That’s our girl! xo Lulu
