This is a very misleading article filled with dis-information. Federal representatives such as those listed in the article have no affect on Convention of States at all. This is entirely in the hands of the State Legislatures and the delegates they send to the convention. In Arizona, the delegates are the Speaker of the Arizona House, the AZ Senate President, and the AZ Governor. It does not matter who previously attempted an Article V convention, It is a tool provided to us by our forefathers for exactly the situation we are in today. The biggest built in safeguard is that EVERYONE involved must agree to EXACTLY the same language not only to call a convention and define the subject matter but also on any amendments that are proposed. The reason ANY preceding Article V convention failed is because no AGREEMENT could be met. We have two choices here and now today. Either we can learn to cooperate to accomplish the realistic goals of: Impose fiscal restraints on the federal government; Limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government; and Limit the terms of office for officials of the federal government. Or We can allow the current situation to deteriorate to the point where peaceful reform is no longer possible.
