This is a very one sided view of interpreting scripture. Salvation is conditional! It us true that we can do nothing to add to salvation. What Jesus did on the cross is sufficient for salvation, however in order to receive this salvation we must believe and enter in to what Christ has won on our behalf. The alternative to this is that everybody is saved because Christ died for all. We know that universalism is not what the bible teaches but it does teach that the only way we can be saved us to confess and believe - thats a condition! There are scriptures that indicate salvation is ongoing and not a one off event (ie we are being saved) reaching a point of culmination when Jesus returns for us. The bible also teaches that there will be a falling away from the faith before he returns. It makes no sense to say that these people were never believers because you cant fall away from something you never believed in the first place. These will be people who did not maintain their status as being saved. Jesus spoke to the church (believers) at Sardis in Revelation 3:5He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. It is clearly possible to have your name blotted out from the Lambs book of life. It behoves us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling and abide in him.
