This is a very small part of my Grief Journal. These are my private thoughts. I chose to share this one, I cannot tell you where it came from, but somewhere deep in my soul or my gut, if you prefer. I remember a song by David Alan Coe which some of his music I would not recommend. But the one song. Called The Ride. Many have said my words can hit a chord with them. Well this is perhaps why….. He said, Drifter can ya make folks cry when you play and sing? Have you paid your dues, can you moan the blues? Can you bend them, guitar strings? He said, Boy can you make folks feel what you feel inside? The First and Last hook lines have always stuck with me as something that I was always trying to avoid. Now I tend to say what is really on the inside and writing helps. It so different from talking out loud. I decided it was time to say them out loud and share them. This will be my last post for while the woods are calling my name…. I am not looking for Likes I am looking for all of us to love those around us and nothing more. The Thesaurus would add Instant,Second,Minute,Jiffy,Split Second otr Flash I used… A Moment I am reminded today that we only get “A Moment”. Once it is gone, it is gone. There are no do over’s. I cannot go back and rewind the tape of my life and get another chance to shake a hand, give a hug, shed a tear, give a kiss, touch someone or say a kind word. Let me say it this way….When someone is dead they are gone. No more chances to say what we need to say. No more chances to look at a calendar and make a date. There is no more! It is done. It is finished. Take “A Moment” to let that penetrate. It is game over, no second chances, no more time, done, kaput, Roger over and out. There is no more. The really sad part of all that is that we have to lose it first in order to see what we have lost. I have to say that I never knew…..and even worse, is most of us will not know until it happens. I posted that not for any likes, but if it motivates you to do something. Please do it with no second thoughts. Someone may need that one word that only you can give them and this is the time. It reminds me that there is nothing more important than the human relationship. Meaning nothing takes the place of another human being. We need to all take time to hold someone close, someone we love. Look into their eyes and tell them we love them and we will always love them. It is free and it is a graceful way to give away something that in this world is so rare. Love. Caring for another person and actually mean it. Nothing in exchange, not love for favors, make it unearned. You may be surprised with the results. You will feel better, you will be more engaged in life and for some it may lead to something that you needed to do a long time ago and have forgotten what to do when you look into that person’s eyes. So “Take A Moment” spend it on someone you love. It could change your world, it may change our world. Love To All
