*****This is a very ugly topic but one that needs sharing.***** If you are here at our page to find a new home for an animal youve rescued or painfully have to give up PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be very careful when choosing their new homes. Just because the person found your post here, as a member, doesnt mean they are safe placements. We have no way to screen members other than based on their actions once they are a member. We are sickened by the reality that there are a lot of people out there (and possibly on our FB page) that mean your animal harm. People looking for bait dogs, fighter dogs, pups/dogs/kittens/cats for free that they turn around and sell for profit. People with hearts of gold that are hoarders keeping animals in horrid and unsafe conditions because they believe they are helping the animals. Fosters who will take an animal you have rescued and promise they will continue looking for owners only they dont because they believe the owner is bad or the animal wouldnt have been loose and if you find the owner, the foster wont return it for the same reason. **Ask for vet references and then follow through on checking them out. **Ask for home visits, both before giving them the animal and several unannounced after. **Check out any fosters on several FB pages. Ask questions and get real with the questions. If they are legitimate fosters they wont mind. I know as soon as I post this that many will share their experiences, good and bad, and help you add to this list of safeguards. Thanks for caring. Thanks for sharing. Thanks for loving animals.
