This is a write up on the Inspirational CD. Please take a moment to read. Thank you and love to everyone. SHEBA THE MISSISSIPPI QUEEN “DETOUR ROAD” In cotton fields, and the church, thats where Sheba started singing. From a family of sharecroppers barely surviving, 12 years old Sheba’s mom left for Florida in search of opportunities. She later returned to get Sheba and her siblings. They all traveled to South Florida on a migrant workers’ bus. The family started working in Homestead, Florida in the tomato fields, bean fields, and lime groves. There were also many others that had left the Mississippi Delta in search of a new life. The work was very hard with bleeding hands, from the lime tree thorns and snake infested fields. Singing helped them make it through the day. Sheba’s first exposure to music came from her gospel singing parents, Leroy Booker & Lillian Smith .She was the process of recording a new blues CD, when she across Tim Veazey’s music. She was so impressed that she has taken a detour from blues singing to do this inspirational CD. She said she was following the call of God in her heart. Sheba picked 11 of Tim’s original songs to record. Each one touched her heart deeply, especially “Keeper of The Flame” Sheba says it is all about God, not her. In one day she was inspired to write two original songs, “God Got Your Back” and “Out of Your Hands”. She closes the CD with one of her favorites, “Wonderful World.”
