This is absolutely ludicrous! This is why Ive stopped shopping at Walmart, they have cameras out the wazoo and still refuse to assist or intervene when situations like this occur. Shameful...the employee intervened on behalf of a customer and attacker was not a shoplifter (as per their policy states), nor a co-worker, so he should have been commended for helping a customer in distress. Not only that but you have a legal right to defend yourself and a victim (complete stranger) with the same amount of force being used against you or the victim, dont get me wrong you do not HAVE to help, but are legally protected should you do so. I am glad that despite being fired from his job he would still intervene in the future. Think about this Walmart: how do you think it would have went for your company had this woman been murdered in your parking lot while one of your employees sat by and watched? Civil Liability anyone?
