This is absurd -- and stealing from YOU! Time to throw a penalty flag on the IRS and the NFL. Do you know that last year the NFL paid the NFL commissioner $44 MILLION dollars, and paid two law firms $16 MILLION dollars to lobby for them and yet the NFL has a TAX EXEMPT STATUS? And those payments are just starters (read the article below.) Doesnt sound like the NFL has money problems -- but you do when special people and special organizations get special deals and you do not. I love football -- but I am sick of the fans and taxpayers getting ripped off. It is about time the NFL gets taxed. You get taxed, why shouldnt the NFL? The NFL has lobbied its way into tax exempt status: (and this goes back years) According to the filing, the NFL claims its tax exemption under section 501c(6). The IRS regulations define eligible 501c(6) organizations as the following: Business leagues Chambers of commerce Real estate boards Boards of trade Professional football leagues. There is no reason the NFL gets this special tax exempt status other than that they lobbied their way into it. Is that fair? If they can pay giant salaries, they can pay taxes...like the rest of us. Time to throw a flag on the NFL and the IRS!
