This is all I will say on Ferguson: I am a black man. Every second watching my back. Because you never know whats gonna happen. Never feeling safe. Half white but act full to insure security. Been lucky. Foster child. Told by the system from the age of one what I was suppose to be. I am from the hood. Where walking to the store for some candy can be dangerous. I am a black man. My brothers and sisters are being slain. From Emmett Till to Tamir Rice. Where is the justice? Where is our freedom? We have opportunity but the chains have never been more vivid. Barack Obama showed us we could do anything. The police continue to show we wont be anything. But we stand. We stand for our ancestors and those who will follow after. We live in their image. We turn that anger and frustration into creativity and ways to beat the oppression. We are black and we will fight. But at the gun point of a cop, at the wrong place at the wrong time, Im not a college student, a brother, an actor, a lover, a peacemaker, a son, an innovator, a human being.
