This is an excerpt from todays Jim Blounts Butler County History for 21 Nov 2013: Gasoline was in the 30 to 35 cents a gallon range in ‘63. A 12-ounce box of corn flakes usually cost 23 cents and a basic hamburger at a chain restaurant was 15 cents. The federal minimum wage was $1.35 an hour. Allowing for inflation, that 30-cent-a-gallon gas would be about $2.30 in 2013 and the $1.35 hourly minimum wage would be $10.28. In mid 2013, the federal minimum wage was $7.25 and the Ohio rate is $7.85. This just shows how dummied down our country is. And the super rich are laughing all the way to their Cayman Island banks.
