This is an extremely rare (Rocking horse manure style) photograph of a Great Northern Railway Company passenger train leaving Thackley heading towards Idle. The line closed to passengers in 1931 so its certainly pre dates that year. It is the cutting between the main road and the road that leads into the village (Still there today but overgrown). Does anyone know what the chimney in the background may have been. (Copyright M Neale Collection-Photographer unknown).
