This is an objection that is commonly brought up when discussing the historical evidence of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The toughest part about this objection is that Matthew doesn’t say very much about this spectacular event. There are also no external records of the resurrection of the Saints. It seems that Matthew was more concerned with the resurrection of Christ himself than the resurrection of the saints. Many times, when atheists bring up this passage they insinuate that the people who were risen would of been family members of people in Jerusalem. However, this is not an accurate portrayal of this passage. Given the limited information on the matter, I think it would be wise to consider some additional questions: 1. Were they risen in the same manner as Lazarus was? 2. Who were the saints? 3. How long were these saints dead for? answersforhope/the-saints-rose-from-the-dead-in-matthew-2751-54-how-do-we-explain-it/ ~Jason
