This is another thing which people esp those who believe it need to explain for i have never understood. moreover, i consider it not islamic but anti-islamic and i will prove it. i will use Imam Ali and Bibi Fatema as examples nd i will use the following hadeeth as my main point:- Heaven lies at the feet of the mother. Both Bibi Fatemah binte asad (Imam Alis mother) nd Bibi Khadija (Bibi fatemahs mother) always had jannah lie beneath their feet. but unfortunately today what we believe nd what happened are two opposites of each other. when imam Ali got married to Bibi Fatemah, neither mothers lost the jannah. the jannah was still below their feet. so why is it today (which this part i dont understand nd will never understand) is when a boy gets married, suddenly the boy becomes the slave of the wifes mother and the boys mother looses that jannah and is transferred to the wifes feet. to hear people saying:- may ur mother in law love u to the girl is insane. since when does a mother succumb to the girl but the boy has to succumb to the wifes mother. u will never hear the statement that is told to the girl told to the boy (ie:- may ur mother in law like u INSTEAD they r told the opposite:- may u like ur mother in law). its like saying Imam Ali is accountable to Bibi Khadijah but BIbi fatema binte asad is accountable to Bibi Fatema whic is totally absurd. so that is why i say it is tottally unislamic nd i blame the zakirs whi create the rift btwn mother in laws nd daughter in laws. instead of giving a balance message (which is what islam is:- balance:- 50%-50%) they instead will put all the burden on the husbands mother nd lets the wifes mother go home free. and that is why i will advice those before they plan to marry they make the following pledge:- i (boy nd girl) will treat our mothers the same way. if u treat my mother the good, bad, ugly then i will treat ur mother the good, bad, ugly. it is insane, not islamic but a hindu tradtion that the boy is told:- even if ur wife to be treats ur mother bad/ugly u treat her mother good, needs to be irradicated, erased and totally killed/destroyed and the best example to use are our ahlulbayt.
