This is beauty apprentice, Kirsty, practising a facial on another learner. This is a condensed version of the facial - showing only some of the processes involved. Firstly, Kirsty gently removed her clients make-up with remover then used cleanser to get rid of any impurities still on the skin. Because her client has sensitive skin, Kirsty used a light exfoliation cream. She went on to use the Dermalogica scaling fluid which prevents the formation of freckles and acnes, reduces oil production and dissolves clogged pores. This was left on the skin for 5 minutes whilst the steamer opened up Kirstys clients pores to allow the fluid to properly absorb into the skin. Kirsty then practised the extraction method to treat her clients comedones (commonly spots or black heads). She then used a post extraction fluid (similar to a toner). She then finished with a massage on the client using massage cream.
