This is being published in a local newspaper but I thought if I posted it here too I might get some help with my problem? Bruce Appleby is a retired hairdresser trained by Vidal Sassoon artistic directors and relocated from Toronto. Each year, he travels to Nicaragua. While he is there, he goes to the villages to teach the natives how to cut hair. He teaches the basic cuts that help them maintain; a long hair trim, a short bob, a short layered & long layered haircut. The ones who learn and are the best receive a free pair of professional scissors so they can continue doing what he has taught them for the people in their village. They have so far shared the scissors and saved the money and show it to me when I go back. Or they have left their village and went on to cut hair in Nicaragua and have a career. Over the years, Bruce has relied on his friends and associates in the hairdressing business in Toronto, to supply those scissors that he gives away. Now, he needs to find new resources so he can continue the work that the people of Nicaragua look forward to, expect and deserve. Our community has an abundance of hair salons and good, community minded people. We are reaching out to find those people to donate professional scissors, or used scissors to help Bruce continue his good work, perhaps in another country, but still in a community minded spirit. Bruce leaves on December 9th and would like to meet the expectations that he has developed over the years. Please contact him at …. if you are able to help. bappleis@gmail
