This is by far one of the m most straight talks of the Palestinian/Israel issue. It is so to the point, that makes absolutely logical sense that the buck stops here. This is a must watch, I dont know how I never came across this man before. Miko Peled, the son of a highly decorated famous general of the Isreali army in the 60s and 70s talks about his life experience. His mother still lives in Jerusalum. His niece was killed by Palestinian suicide bombers. When his neice was killed back in 1997, and being that it was the grandaughter of a famous Israel general it made the major news. When she was interviewed and asked about revenge and retaliation for her daughter she said no real mother would want this to happen to another mother. Dont talk to me about revenge. Motherhood is a uniting force. It cuts through religion or any difference between us. Her second responce was My government was responsible for this (the Isreali government). My government has brought these two young men to such a level of despair that they would take their own lives, and the lives of innocent people, inculding a 13 yr old girl. (her daughter). The brutal oppression under which the Palestinians have to live because of us, is the cause of this. This is why this is happening. If we want this to stop, we have to stop the oppression. As long as the Palestinians are denied hope, and denied freedom, and denied water, and denied their own land and their homes, this will continue to happen. I point the finger at my own government. He talks of Palestine from 1947 on to current today, as he still frequently visits Israeal. Very direct, lifting all the myths of this horrible oppression, and occupation. A very, very good watch. This came from the heart of Zionism and the occupation of Palestine. Sharing his story. Sharing his experience from a perspective that cannot be touched. Please, please give a listen.
