This is cool, but keep in mind how very expensive something like this is. Not only that, but they are specifically made to break. I had two different types of lifts before I was able to walk again and I spent any additional money I had getting them fixed. The only way I was ever able to get way to constantly replacing some lifting arms was a friend of mind was a welder and he did more than spot weld and did some heavy welding at each of the bends and connections. The Company that so me the equipment had the nerve to call me about 3 months since my last repair to ask me if everything was working okay (they expected to hear from me). Do yourself a BIG favor-if you should ever had to buy anything like this, buy what ever parts move the lease, or need the least mechanical/hydraulic moving parts. There is a company in Asia that makes a ramp for the back of van that works very easily and if youre going to pay $15,000 (cost plus installation), you would be much better buying a Quickie wheelchair. They are made to come apart very easily, so you can transfer to your car and then put the parts in the back seat. I used to fold my chair up after I transferred myself into my car and then pull the wheelchair in after me. I had it rigged up where I could pull a bungee type cord to close the door and the seat belt held the wheelchair laying down in the seat beside me. Only buy one of those lifts as a very last resort. I assure you, you will regret it!
