This is day 5 for my challenge postings. I must say that even though I usually find these sorts of things a bore, it has been interesting, educational and entertaining seeing a body of work from all of you that posted. There has been the opportunity to confirm the depth of quality of some artists work and to confirm that others - no so much. It has also been humorous watching how three paintings a day for 5 days has morphed into 4 paintings for three days, or 5 paintings for 5 days, etc. I am closing with three paintings from an ongoing series that I refer to as “objects on a shelf”. This grew out of my glass series when I started combining objects with the canning jars. “Lady Churchill” has been selected for inclusion in this year’s American Watercolor Society Exhibition. Toy Soldiers is as much an anti-war statement as it is a nostalgic comment. Can you find the “No More War”? White Owls is all about nostalgia. I am a bit of a where’s Waldo when it comes to signing my name when I paint objects that have writing on them. My signature is tucked away in each of these paintings. Thanks to all that have participated - Laurin
