This is documentary is being released sometime in the next few months. While revered in the world of Broadway Musical Theatre, Ms. Stritch has had an interesting, if peripatetic, film career of small roles in films such as Michael Curtizs Scarlet Hour, Three Violent People with Charlton Heston, The Charles Vidor/John Huston version of Farewell to Arms with Rock Hudson and Jennifer Jones, Blake Edwards Perfect Furlough with Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, Alain Resnaiss Providence with Sir John Gielgud and Ellen Burstyn and Woody Allens September and Small Time Crooks. She also was seen in recurring roles as a defense attorney on Law & Order and as Alec Baldwins mother on 30 Rock. Her most fascinating appearance on film is in D.A. Pennebakers Company, the Original Cast Album, a documentary of the making of the cast album of Stephen Sondheims groundbreaking musical with Dean Jones. She is the kind of person that all you have to do is point the camera at her and the audience will be captivated. Note: the link rolls into a series of trailers, including a new alien abduction film that looks like its right up Karl Kaefers alley and a romantic thriller where recently widowed (and stunningly luminous) Annette Benning meets the doppleganger of her husband, played by Ed Harris. All three look interesting.
