This is exactly why the US government stealing all of your data is unconscionable. This is an article about how the American FBI wiretapped and spied on Martin Luther King Jr., and in an attempt to silence him, took the evidence they obtained from spying on him and attempted to encourage him to kill himself. Today, they could have just leaked it to the press and that would have been all she wrote for Dr. King. You can argue that its no big deal that your government constantly spies on you if you have nothing to hide. You can say that innocent people have nothing to worry about. But heres clear and convincing proof of not only what the US government can potentially do to one of us, but what they have actually done. We need to stop the data collection. The amount of our tax dollars spent on spying on us must be astronomical. This money still be in every tax paying Americans pocket. Youre not free when they have all the leverage they need to control you. Wake up. Is there nothing youve ever sent through electronic communication, or spoken over a cell phone that they couldnt use to control you if they needed to? Thats not freedom.
