This is fascinating: Using a GoPro camera, which allows folks to take take pictures remotely (including from mini-helicopters), The Trustees of Reservations on Marthas Vineyard is photographing shorebirds as they nest and feed along our barrier beaches. Taken very recently on the barrier spit of Norton Point Beach -- which as many of you know once connected Chappy to the rest of the Vineyard, but right now is separated by an opening or channel between the two Islands -- this picture shows American oytstercatchers nesting along the beach.
