This is for the HEAT Haters and for the Spurs fans who cant get over their defeat. 1. FICTION: You say the refs made the HEAT win game 7. FACT: The refs gave more Free throws to Spurs than Miami (22-16 FT). Spurs shot 37% in the first half but was only trailing by 2 because they shot 11 more free throws, even in the second half, they shot more free throws until the closing minute when the spurs were intentionally fouling. (At the end of the game Spurs got 19 PF calls and Miami also got 19) 2. FICTION: NBA games are rigged because an article in the internet says so. FACT: Not everything on the internet is true. 3. FICTION: NBA games are rigged because former NBA referee Tim Donaghy said so. FACT: Tim Donaghy got kicked from the league, convicted and went to prison for betting on games that he officiated during his last two seasons and that he made calls affecting the point spread in those games. He is not a reliable source for this kind of allegation and is like the pot calling the kettle black. In fact he has a grudge against NBA Commissioner David Stern because Stern cooperated with the FBI on the investigation against Donaghy. In short, Donaghy’s statements are not credible. 4. FICTION: Spurs gave the game away. FACT: Spurs played their best in Game 7. Saying otherwise is an injustice to the Spurs star players. Even though Spurs made an impressive 90.9% Free throw (20/22) compared to Heat’s measly 68.8% (11/16), It was the Heat’s tight defense and the pressure of the game that limited Green’s 3 points to 1 (1/6 3P). Parker to only 10 points (3/12 FG & 4/4 FT) for a total of 37.8% FG for the Spurs. However, the Heat weren’t shooting great either with only 43.9%. In fact the Spurs defense was so good that it limited Bosh, Allen, Haslem & Miller to Zero points who all played a total of 69 minutes together. In fact, when Tim Duncan was so upset with his game tying missed shot and follow up in the final minute of the game that he slapped the floor on his way back to defend. And even though Ginobili made 4 Turn overs, Chalmers and Wade also made 4 each, with Heat having a total of 16 Turn overs with Spurs 14. 5. FICTION: Spurs, Stern, or the Refs let Miami win Game 6 so there will be a game 7. FACT: Game 6 all boiled down to the 3 point shot made by Ray Allen in the dying seconds of the game. Im not sure about you but neither Stern, nor the refs nor any Spur player can influence that shot to go in or out. It was a great game 7 that will be remembered in NBA History. Both teams gave their best. Its just the better team won. With this I leave you with this video that shows how desperate Tim Duncan in scoring an easy game tying shot and follow up in the final minute with a mismatched Battier guarding him and missed both. nba/video/channels/playoffs/2013/06/21/0041200407-sas-mia-play36.nba/index.html
