This is for those who have owned Yamahas and Taiwan built saxophones. Please compare 1 of the 3 Yamaha pro models 875, 62 or 82 Z with your Taiwan made horn experience. Compare price, build quality, action, aesthetics, tuning, durability, useful innovative features and most importantly the sound and flexibility. It seems Yamaha is the heavy weight champ for school systems these days. My experience with all 3 pro models is they have always fell flat in the sound area. They feel great but just dont inspire me sonically and lack flexibility. Techs have commented that the metal was soft on Yamahas too. But then again techs have to say at least one bad thing about every horn. It seems Yamaha is chasing its tail with all the neck options as well.
