This is from Karen, Buck and Bills mom... I wanted to thank all - TopicsExpress

This is from Karen, Buck and Bills mom... I wanted to thank all of you for your continued support, and I wanted you to understand (as best as possible) exactly what is going on in this case. The first photo is a copy of the most recent order we received from the Second District Court of Appeals. We have been waiting months for this, as this was to be where the decision concerning the case was to be made. As you can see, our petition or case has been dismissed as untimely...and this is information that the attorneys who were removed as counsel have (or should have) known all along. The bottom line is that my dogs and I (and TLP and you) have suffered needlessly for months on end because of this. I also want to state is that I was told that I had to hire an appellate attorney, and I interviewed over 17 individuals...there was literally no one who wanted to take this case. The attorney chosen came forward...almost like a miracle...and agreed to work for what I could afford. You now know the rest of this story. This is why we need your support at this time, and the greatest thing that you can do is to contribute to the dogs ongoing legal fund. I literally spent over half of my own income just trying to cover the distance between Manatee and Sumter counties last year in order to keep the dogs alive and do what was asked of me by counsel. I justified the expense because I thought it would be short-term...I kept being assured that we couldnt lose with all of these appeals and the law on our side. The second photo is of a original painting that I own. I bought it at the Aussie nationals after Bucks grandmother (the dog in portrait) won all of her classes in agility, competed very well in herding, knocked em dead in conformation, and came in second in the nation in obedience. She was one of the greatest dogs that ever lived, and Buck carries on this same standard. With Bill as his father, I dont think you could put more love and loyalty into a dog. The point of the photo is that the Aussie is lying on the American flag, in the back of a truck, next to a saddle. This is the life that I believe in...the old blue truck is long gone, the saddle sold to pay an attorney, but Our Flag lives on as a symbol of justice. I like to think that the Aussie lays on it for comfort and security...and that is what I intend to keep believing. We will keep you posted on the litigation to be filed in the upcoming week, the donations requested are for those filing fees and other courts costs. Blessings...and let us remember the holiday upcoming...MLK Jr stood for justice and freedom...let us not forget the sacrifice involved! Karen youcaring/other/save-buck-and-bill/63291
