This is from MY time! Who knew this was work, its just what your parents said to do, so you did it. Furthermore there were no complaints allowed or more work would be on its way! Walking the bean fields at about 10 years old, driving tractors at 12, It made me the person I am.......how many people had a neighbor tell the groom at your wedding you got yourself a harder worker here!. I did! A beautiful bride would have been preferred but I would go over and clean her house, cut corn for freezing, pretty much whatever she asked. Got off the school bus there, once a week. I was happy for the opportunity to make a few bucks. That was the farm life! That was my life! I have been working ever since. Shouldnt it be time for me to retire soon! Lol.
