I was able to pay an additional $4,000 this month on our principle...when just a year ago I was worried we wouldnt be able to afford the regular mortgage payment! THANKS BEACHBODY. I heard a story yesterday of a friend who was so deep in debt, for so many years, that he had to work two full time jobs JUST TO MAKE THE INTEREST PAYMENTS! What an awful way to live. In 2005 I went through a kind of lifestyle transformation where all my effort, like every ounce of it, went to wiping out any debt I had. That feeling of not being able to buy or do what I want when I wanted - because of debt - was not how I wanted to live. I am now basically debt free with the exception of short term credit lines to facilitate business. When i get a car, I choose not to borrow. A home buying opportunity which looks incredible, unless I can pay cash, I resist. I bet we have many coaches who would love to feel the freedom of not have their day-to-day choices governed by debt. If you have been looking for a WHY to work this business and have the courage to help people get healthy and fit, thats a good - no, great - one. Its so vivid and real. Mortgage statements, credit card bills. I would leave them in view of the TV and computer. Discipline yourself to work hard with this business so that you dig out, and in fact, get ahead of it. Debt is kind of like being overweight. It takes a lot of work and a lot of discipline to fix it. But you can do it, and you have no idea how good you will feel until you get to that place where you wake up one morning and you realize I am now completely debt-free.
