This is going to be difficult..... Im asking for you to take some time this week and post here for me. Please indicate if you are okay that I share some of your posts on the air Friday morning. Ask other family and friends to post here as well please. November 22, 1963-President John F.Kennedy is assassinated. This Friday marks 50 years. For those of us that were here, we will NEVER forget where we were and what happened when we learned that the President was dead. I was four and a half years old, at home with my mom. My baby sister was two. We lived at 2021 E. Courtland in Spokane, just off Crestline. Mom was ironing when she received a call from her friend telling her what happened. Mom instantly turned on our black and white television and watched. I stood next to her, on her left side while she explained to me what was happening. She was crying, just crying, just crying.....she explained to me that Jackies pink outfit, the markings on it were from the Presidents blood. I had never in my life seen my mother so upset......I remember for days when we would go to the grocery store, to run errands, it was DEATHLY quiet everywhere. Both women AND men would be just walking up and down aisles crying. My husband and I have been watching all the special coverage at night.......and I cry. Please remember how important it is to pass on our countries history, both good, and BAD......so that our children will never forget or take for granted how truly special this country still is and how very important we are to each other.
