This is how I spent my Thanksgiving morning, Sunrise service on - TopicsExpress

This is how I spent my Thanksgiving morning, Sunrise service on Alcatraz Island, with 3000 Indigenous people and friends, commemorating the 40th Anniversary of the take over of the island in the San Francisco bay. The weather was ideal for the end of November. And contrary to popular thought many of us were thankful for a lot of reasons, including still being alive, mother moon, mother earth, friends and family. There were Spiritual Prayer dances, ceremonial dress and fire offerings. In spite of where we are in life, everyone is connected in this world and there are so many blessings. But there is a lot more work to do. I still got back to Oakland in time help feed the less fortunate. Best Thanksgiving I ever had.
